The Malta Government introduced the first version of the Malta Residence and Visa Programme Regulations in 2016, being subsequently replaced by the Malta Permanent Residence Programme Regulations. The latter regulations were recently updated for applications submitted as of the 1st of January 2025, and remain available for those seeking to move to Malta, or simply enjoy having the peace of mind of a second home and residence in the Europe.
